You say malarkey. I say melarkey.

Yep. I spelled malarkey wrong in the piece in the post below. Oh well, as I've said in Facebook and Flickr, it just proves my point that I don't know what I'm talking about . . . usually. May go back and fix it, may not. I can always say, since it's somewhat of a self portrait, that it was a play on the word to be MElarkey.

I'm as slow as molasses but did get one more piece done this week. Starting to shift my focus to making some new sheets but I have lots of scanning and restoration to do so it will be a few more days before I get anything ready to show.

Unbelievable

New standard operating procedure starts tomorrow . . .
I've decided that I get so overwhelmed trying to start the blog visiting I want to do that I'm going to try and break my day up into parts. I really need to set a timer and stick to a schedule of sorts and see if that helps me accomplish more.
  • I'm going to take an hour or so each day and visit a section of the blogs I have linked as my fav's. For instance, I might visit J's-L's tomorrow, A's-D's the next day, and so on. That will help me get caught up on some inspiration and my friends at the same time.
  • And, I'm going to take one hour each day to take the online class, Remains of the Day by Mary Ann Moss, that I haven't started 3 weeks after signing up.
  • One hour for emails and . . .
  • One hour for Flickr and . . .
  • One hour for house chores . . .
  • and the rest to work.
We'll see how this plan works . . .

Hey! By the way . . . thank you for your kind comments. You all are just the best blog friends anyone could ask for. I thank my stars for you all everyday and I really appreciate the time you take to visit and comment.

Your new schedule sounds very doable!! I spend two hours every day reading blogs...that way I sort of keep in touch with all my bloggy friends!! So far...so good!!
Then I spend two hours twice a week writing my blog and two hours with photography for the blog and other art interests. The rest of the time is house and art work. Sometimes they merge...Ha!
Enjoy your new schedule!

If it will make you feel any better, I signed up for Remains of the Day a year ago and still haven't started it! Love your new schedule of daily events!

Hello Marsha!
First of all, I think there must have been a reason you "mis-spelled" the word in your collage. Perhaps it was a moment of poetic license and you were sub-consiously exploring new ways of being creative? Or some Freudian slip, where he said there really were no mistakes and that we really do mean what we do and say (BTW, it's probably the ONLY time I listen to what he said!). But I think you found your answer when you said that "Me" had shown up in it. There is a synchronicity to all that we do, even when we do not realize it. So, I vote that you do NOT change your original work!! (And I'm now stepping down from my Mini-Soap Box of Psychology!)

Second, I love your schedule! Please let us know how it goes as I am trying very hard to develop something like it for myself. This Chicken-Without-Her-Head Method is not working!

And thirdly, I love your new collage so much! When they are finished "cooking", I know your new sheets will be as amazing as always. But remember to be gentle with yourself. You are the only you and your family have.

Hugs,

Betty

Good luck with the schedule Marsha! I'm going to be trying something similar, only I've decided to get myself a daily journal/planner and write down what I'm going to be doing for the following day and then see if I can stick with that. I find I'm too easily distracted if I don't have some structure in my day.

I hope your scheduling works for you Marsha. I usually squeeze in blog visiting during my work break. I can usually squeeze in a half hour a day,but most times in 5-10 minute increments.
Glad to see you hanging in there and I LOVE YOUR NEW PIC! ; )

My oh my... sounds just like me! :]
Love the idea of "sticking to the plan" schedule, wishing you the best.
I also, signed up for Remains of the Day by-Mary Ann Ross too, and of coarse... it is still on my "to do list".
You have inspired me. Thank you.
I am going to make a schedule to keep focused, and get busy with that wonderful course Mary Ann Ross has put together:]
Maybe, we can keep each other inspired?! :]

I decided years ago that flying by the seat of my pants - well it works - as does procrastination...hee-hee

Good luck with the schedule. And as for the misspelling just say, "Uh, yeah. I MEANT to do that."

works for me - Kathy

You are going to LOVE Mary Ann's class! I just finished my first ROD journal and I had the best time working in paper again. Be sure to check in with the Yahoo group. We just had the most amazing 10 for 10 swap and I got an incredible amount of wonderful loot! There is another swap coming up in June and you won't want to miss out.

Malarkey, melarkey, who cares? ;o) It reminds me of Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy - the one that had him calling his grandpa "grandpEppy" instead of "grandpAppy" and irritating the crap out of him.
