Hi all - Have a few minutes and a spot to compute! Dad is okay - a few concerns this morning. He had the tube pulled out of his stomach and is finally able to "eat" or drink a liquid diet and having very little trouble that way. That's good. The epidural is gone and he is on oral pain medication. And, that is good. He is having some shortness of breath all of a sudden though and we are waiting for a doctor visit. He seems a bit anxious about it and isn't as perky today.
My brother leaves tomorrow. He has been so wonderful staying all night each night with my dad. He will be missed and I get nervous knowing that I am "the one" to manage it all without him here. The next few days make me anxious and nervous. We were thinking Dad may get to go home tomorrow, but I have a feeling we may have had a setback this morning and it may end up being Thursday.
I am planning to go home on the 11th. Next week I'll be able to visit blogs and think more creatively once we're back at my dad's house. I can't wait to think about art more than meds, and meals, and sponge baths, and oxygen levels and blah, blah, blah! I bet you're growing tired of blah, blah, blah too!
I love you all more than you know. You have helped more than I can tell you. I feel badly that all I can write about is my dad right now. It will change soon. Have beautiful creative days this week and make some art for me (well, not FOR me but enjoy making it for me!)

Hi Marsha! I will keep up the "good thoughts" vigil with all of your other pals. :) You'll have a regular freeway of good thoughts coming your way!
I hope you get to go to your Dad's house soon. Hospitals are not fun at all. Take care of Marsha, too. xoxox Pam
Wonderful to "hear" your voice again! I'm still sending good thoughts your way!
I was in your spot just about a year ago...it's such a worry to worry about one's parents. Keep positive and keep him positive, healthy thoughts and words his way. Best wishes for you all.
I hope this breathing thing is nothing too serious. I know you will do fine being the only "care giver" but I understand the feeling of responsibility. Remember to take care of yourself also.
Write what you have to please don't worry about it. It is YOUR blog after all and we come here because we are interested in you! Art is fun but life sometimes takes precedence.
I hope your dad continues to improve at a good pace. Take care of yourself.
Cheers, Shelagh xox
You just keep on writing about your dad! I think writing is good for the soul. Sounds like your dad is doing GREAT considering all that he's gone through. You both are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep being strong, keep breathing deeply and you'll be just fine sweets!

No need to apologise honey...it's a gift being able to support somebody that you like...pleased that things are progressing...i wonder if the oral pain killers could be causing breathlessness...know that asthmatics can't take ibprofen so maybe related...take care...
