I need a couple of days away from art and to do some chores around the house. So, I am taking a mini vacation from art and posting. I think . . . it's hard to stay away! Happy December!
Are you putting your tree up? Is that why you're away from your blog? A HA! Yet another person trying to get their holidays splashed all over the house before me!!!! Once upon a time I thought I was so cool because I put my tree up Dec. 1st and then I found out some second cousin or other of mine put their's up like in the middle of November and then I had to disown them. True story, well half true.
I knew it! I knew you could see me through the other side of my computer monitor. You probably have a good laugh every morning at my lopsided bed hair.
The tree story . . . we just moved in with my mom-in-law in August. Even though she has a big house we both had to get rid of a fair share of our stuff, so I got rid of our old and sad fake tree thinking we would get a real one this year. Then, decided we didn't want the messy needles and dealing with it after Christmas so Saturday we got a new fake tree. About 11 Saturday night I decided to put it up. They have made them much easier to build in the last 15 years - it took minutes. However, it needed intense branch fluffing. I did half of it that night and then gave up. Finally my daughter couldn't stand it and finished fluffing for me. But, alas, my tree stands naked - nothing on it. So, technically, I have my tree up but not "up".
No, I am taking a couple of days to tend to lots of other little things that have piled up over the last few weeks AND splash the holidays around the house.
a HA! I KNEW it!!!!! It's a conspiracy! Every one in the fricking world was ready and when the strike of midnight occurred, mere seconds after November 30th started fading away into the day of Dec. 1st evvvvvery body started putting their trees up. They're all mocking me, mocking me and beautiful artificial tree that is still in it's 3 pieces in the garage and laying on it's side and by no one's definition could be considered *up* in any way. I have half a mind, once I put my tree up this year, to leave it up till NEXT year, there by ensuring my winning! Yaaaay, do I have the spirit of Christmas or what?? Although my fake ficus tree in all it's faux glory has had Christmas lights on it for 4 years...maybe that counts and I win already! Yaaaay again!
