I lied . . .

Just couldn't stay away today. I found this picture of my mom and had to play with it in photoshop (I'm trying it out for 30 days). You can't tell so much here but there were lots of specks and rusty spots from something so I tried to fix those and changed the exposure and focus.

Then, I couldn't just leave her without wings . . .

3 3/4 x 4 3/4 collage using a vintage picture reprinted, carefully trimmed and hand-colored and arranged with wings from Etsy's Supplies to Go and a crown made from Dover clipart on a watercolored background.

And here's a larger version reworked in another color. I think I'll give this one to my brother for Christmas.
You can't tell but both collages have just a smidge of glitter on the crown and wings.

so precious, and what a tribute to your Mom! I just obtained photos from my parents when they were young, so maybe I will play with this idea too1 Thanks!

You are brave to learn photoshop! I just can't figure it out and would love to take a hands-on class for it someday. I have PS elements on my computer. I can crop and resize..that's about it!

I love the fairy you created from your mom's picture---it's gorgeous. Glad you snuck a little art in.

The original pic of your Mom reminds me of Tatum O'Neil in Paper Moon. I think it's wonderful that you have such a beautiful picture of your Mom to incorporate in to your art, very cool!
